Analisis Kebutuhan E-Booklet Sejarah Lokal Cupak untuk Mendukung Kesadaran Sejarah Lokal Siswa SMA

Abstract

Local history has the potential to strengthen students’ historical awareness, yet its use in classrooms depends on the availability of teaching materials. This study aimed to analyze the need for teaching materials on the struggle of the people and the Indonesian National Army (TNI) in Cupak, Solok Regency, as a basis for designing an e-booklet. A descriptive study with a simple mixed-methods approach was conducted at SMAN 1 Gunung Talang in April 2025. Data were collected through observation, a structured interview with a history teacher, a questionnaire on local historical awareness completed by 32 students of class XI F2, and curriculum analysis. The interview showed that instruction relied on textbooks and teacher explanation, that Cupak’s history had been introduced but not studied in depth, and that no structured teaching material was available. The corrected questionnaire score was 32.16%, in the low category, with indicator scores between 30.73% and 34.38%. The teacher needed structured, illustrated, and visually attractive material. The findings are formulated as recommended characteristics of teaching materials, and an e-booklet is considered one option that can meet them. Its suitability and effectiveness remain to be tested in the next stages of development.
