Perkembangan Usaha Dapoer Rendang Riry Keluruhan Sungai Durian Kecamatan Lampasi Tiga Nagari Kota Payakumbuh (2002 -2025)

Abstract

This Study examines the development of Dapoer Rendang Riry as a traditional culinary enterprise in Sungai Durian, Lampasi Tigo Nagari District, Payakumbuh, from 2002 to 2025. The study was motivated by the transformation of the enterprise from a small household-based business with limited capital and labor into a culinary enterprise with greater production capacity, wider marketing networks, and broader market orientation. It aims to reconstruct the establishment of the business and explain changes in production activities, employment, marketing, and business sustainability. The study employs the historical method consisting of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were obtained through interviews, documents, archives, and documentation related to Dapoer Rendang Riry. The findings indicate that the business developed gradually through product diversification, increased production capacity, local employment, expansion of marketing networks, and the use of digital media. The COVID-19 pandemic became a significant challenge that encouraged the business to adjust its marketing strategies. Following the pandemic, the enterprise increased its production capacity and expanded its distribution network to markets outside the region and obroad. These developments demonstrate the ability of traditional culinary to adapt to changing economic conditions while maintaining business continuity and preserving the characteristic of local culinary products.
